Individuals can review VISs through CDC’s website at

Shingles, also known as zoster or herpes zoster, is a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox. Nearly 1 out of every 3 people in the United States will develop shingles. The health center now has the shingles vaccine available for those 50 and older. If you are between 50 and 59 years of age you must get a signed order from your primary care physician. Those over 60 will not need an order, as we have a standing order. Those wanting the vaccination must call WCHC to reserve their dose of vaccine and to schedule an appointment before vaccine can be administered.
